how to use fingerprint scanner with php program

i am doing a project, its a database system and i need to use fingerprint scanner.i am using php and i am new to it. is ther a way that i can use fingerprint scanner?

so far i havnt hear any, if you had please let me know. Normally hardware provider only supply com object where only running on Window server. php still lack of that. even php can support com object, but some supplier they dont had any version compatible with php
