Decentralized finance, or 'DeFi' is a new way of trading crypto that dispenses with the use of traditional intermediaries. Instead, defi market making combines a variety of crypto-friendly features such as smart contracts and non-custodial governance models.
Market makers are key in enabling a liquid market by continuously quoting bid-ask asset prices throughout the day to reduce spread and maintain liquidity. These market makers are typically hired by exchanges. |
