Meltan quest is a new special research quest line (named “Let’s GO Meltan”) that’s now available in Pokemon GO, allowing everyone to obtain a Meltan, regardless of owning a copy of Pokemon Let’s Go games. This page lists all Meltan quest stages, Meltan research tasks, quest dialog and rewards. Good luck! We are updating this guide as new info comes in. Stage 2
Stage 2 of Meltan quest requires you to walk a medium distance, anywhere from 6 and 30 KM, depending on the mix of Poke Eggs you are planning to hatch. For fastest clear, go for a 1 KM buddy Pokemon and 2 KM eggs. Stage 3Stage 3 of Meltan’s Pokemon GO quest is a time sink, mostly due to needing to catch a Ditto. Luckily, there is a field research quest that rewards Ditto now: a “Make an excellent throw” quest will reward you with a Ditto encounter! Ditto will be masked as a Pidgey, so be on the lookout for this quest when you spin a PokeStop. Stage 4Stage 4 of Meltan quest is focused on more walking and catching particular types of Pokemon, themed after Meltan’s back story: Electric and Steel. Stage 5Meltan quest stage 5 focuses on “gooey” Pokemon like Grimer, Slugma and Gulpin. We don’t think this stage will be a deal breaker for anyone, especially given how common Gulpin spawns are in most areas. Stage 6Meltan quest stage 6 is a big deal, as it requires you to raid 10 times. Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this: if you’re a free to play player, this stage will take at least 10 days for you. Other quests are fairly easy. Stage 7This stage could be relatively easy or hard, depending on your candy stockpile and how many of each you have spare to evolve. That Metal Coat reward from the last stage will definitely come in handy now! Stage 8Luckily the fossil Pokemon Omanyte and Kabuto are getting boosted in spawns, or this might be a somewhat difficult task depending on your area! For those worried about the Aerodactyl, never fear, for luckily there is a quest out for Hatching 2 Eggs that yields Aerodactyl (which can also be shiny)!
