GEORGE TOWN: A “Datuk Seri” businessman, believed to the top boss of Gang 24, which is known for its protection rackets and illegal moneylending, has been nabbed at a casino.

He was one among 28 of the triad’s top leaders caught during a week-long operation codenamed Ops Cantas Khas inPenang, Kuala Lumpur, Pahang and Singapore.

Sources said the businessman was nabbed at a casino where more than RM100,000 in cash and gambling chips were found on him.

“He had been on the ‘radar’ of the police for some time, after investigations showed that he was the ‘number one’ boss of Gang 24, especially active in the northern region.”

A background check also showed that he had been arrested numerous times over the past 20 years for gang fighting and extortion, among other crimes, the sources said.

The Datuk Seri was nabbed by a Bukit Aman team on Jan 28.

Most of the triad leaders, in their mid-20s and 30s, were nabbed in various parts of Penang including Bayan Baru and Bukit Tengah in the operation that started on Jan 28.

Police waited for them to return home for Chinese New Year to spend time with their families before nabbing them.

Bukit Aman believed they had crippled the gang with the arrest of the Datuk Seri and his deputies.

They are still a few of the gang leaders at large and the police are tracking them down.

It is learnt that action under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma), which allowed for a 28-day detention period, will be taken against them.

They will likely be sent to the Simnpang Renggam Rehabilitation Centre in Johor.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar congratulated his personnel on the success of Ops Cantas Khas in a posting on his Facebook page on Friday.

On Dec 1, the gang’s No. 2 – known as ‘Datuk M’ for Datuk Muda – was shot dead by his bodyguard.

Gang 24 became “a super gang” after it merged with the Sio Sam Ong (“Three Little Emperors”) triad which was behind the slaying of six people in Taman Bersatu, Sungai Petani, during a pre-wedding dinner in Septem-ber 1992.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that it was branching out into drug trafficking. Itwas one of 14 secret societies closely monitored by the police.

檳城6日訊）警方新春斯間大掃黑，在各地逮捕34名來自24私會黨的黨徒。據知被逮捕的還包括一名擁有拿督斯里頭銜，屬於黨首腦的人物。
全國總警長丹斯里卡立在上週五在臉書上發文指出，這是警方3個精英部隊聯手展開的除暴特別行動，除了逮捕到34人外，還起獲6把手槍、一把萊福槍、一些子彈及10公斤的毒品。
檳州總警長拿督威拉蔡義來今午受詢時，也證實警方的這個逮捕行動。
但他表示，由於警方的行動仍在繼續中，所以暫時無法透露更多詳情。
詢及遭警方逮捕的私會黨員是否包括一名擁有拿督斯里頭銜的首腦時，蔡義來並沒說明，僅表示稍後警方會召開記者會，公佈這個逮捕行動中警方逮捕人數、起獲的證物等等詳細情況。
“目前還在等候全國總警長的指示，我暫時不便多說。”

警方通缉10大要犯，其中9人来自槟州！

10名华裔男子涉及黑帮与暴力罪案，而被警方通缉，包括在保镳杀拿督案中，在车内逃过死劫的33岁男子林汶龙。

警方星期三公布在雷霆扫黑行动中，要通缉的最新名单，其中9人是“槟城24”黑帮成员，涉及多宗不法勾当，林汶龙被指是其中一名成员。



警方指他并没有涉及枪杀案，但深入调查后发现他有黑帮背景，而要拘捕他。

9人中还有一名32岁男子Roger Philip Emaung，相信就是在保镳杀拿督案发后，于网络流传的视频中，在死者灵堂上殴打一名文身男的疑犯，他与其中一名被通缉的42岁华裔男子是同一住址。

另有一人是是拿督遭绑架逾2个月案中的首脑，洋名威廉（William）的37岁男子Liew Chee Wei（译音）。

（吉隆坡8日訊）全國警方在過去2年掃黑不手軟，共有5個活躍的私會黨及匪黨組織，因涉及百宗鎗殺、綁架、毒品、搶劫及破門行竊案而被對付，並且逮捕114人包括1名拿督斯里及5名拿督的地方領袖，也起獲23把手鎗與萊福鎗916枚子彈、百萬毒品等。
這些被捕的私會黨徒或兇徒，他們當中有來自“檳城04黨”、“日本21黨”、“霹靂和豐04黨殺手組織”、“拉丁美洲破門黨”、“威廉綁匪黨”、“檳城24黨”以及“雪州迪萬360黨”。
這些落網的嫌犯，其中一名來自檳城的華裔拿督斯里首腦，他因於去年12月的敦林蒼佑大道，與保鏢涉及鎗殺拿督案，結果上月月杪與其他黨員被警方扣查。
不過，這批人雖然落網，但仍然有9人在逃跑，包括在鎗殺案中與拿督死者同車的男子、涉及在靈堂打人者。
除此，警方也在急晤一名“威廉綁匪黨”首腦，這名稱為“威廉”的男子於前年涉嫌綁架彭亨關丹拿督陳一駿。
全國刑事調查總監拿督斯里莫末沙烈今天在吉隆坡警察總部召開記者會，宣布警方在過去2年展開除暴行動中的功績；出席者包括全國刑事調查副總監（罪案策劃）拿督胡茲、吉隆坡總警長拿督阿馬星、全國反風化、肅賭及私會黨取締組主任蘇海米、吉隆坡刑事調查主任魯斯迪、雪州刑事調查主任法茲阿末、檳城刑事調查主任再諾等人。
莫末沙烈說，警方發現從2014年至去年，在柔佛、檳城及雪隆地區發生一些涉及軍火及綁架的罪案，經過警方調查後，發現這些案件皆由一些黑社會或匪黨幹下的。
“對此，警方於2015年至2016年展開連串的除暴行動，包括在柔佛、檳城、霹靂及雪隆等地方，共逮捕了114人。”
他指出，警方在逮捕這批嫌犯後，也起獲22把手鎗、1把萊福鎗、916子彈、175萬令吉毒品、金飾、16萬7193令吉現款及2輛車子。
他說，警方在逮捕這批嫌犯後，當中也有被警方援引2012年安全罪行法令（SOSMA）扣查這批人直到本月24日，同時援引刑事法典130U條文調查他們是否涉及有組織犯罪。
莫哈末沙烈說，警方仍會繼續展開除暴特別行動，而且也追緝其他黑社會分子的下落。
根據警方調查顯示，單單檳城24黨，從2014年起至今，共涉及24宗謀殺、打架、致傷、勒索和非法貸款等罪案，包括2015年發生華裔拿督斯里在檳城被綁，3天後遭人撕票，以及去年12月保鏢鎗殺拿督案件。
莫末沙烈說，當時一名拿督斯里劉永造於2015年1月13日，在檳城武吉丁雅遭綁走，3天后被發現遭人殺害棄屍在霹靂州紅土坎附近的森林。 此案發生後，曾逮捕18名男子助查。
不過，他指出，在去年12月1日，發生在檳城的拿督坐在車內遭保鏢鎗殺一案後，隔天一名華裔男子在死者靈堂遭人毆打視頻被傳出後，警方展開追查，終在1月27日在檳城和雲頂等，逮捕22名年齡介於24至55歲的華裔男子，其中包括一名擁有拿督斯里頭銜的24黨首腦。目前這批人被延扣至本月24日。（光明日報）

Georgetown: Dua puluh dua individu termasuk seeorang bergelar Datuk Seri dihadapkan ke Mahkamah Sesyen Georgetown, hari ini atas tuduhan menjadi ahli kumpulan jenayah terancang sejak dua tahun lalu.

Semua tertuduh yang berusia antara 24 hingga 55 tahun hanya mengangguk faham sejurus pertuduhan dibacakan terhadap mereka di hadapan Hakim Roslan Hamid.

Mengikut pertuduhan, semua mereka didakwa menjadi ahli kumpulan jenayah terancang Geng 24 Pulau Pinang sejak 1 Januari 2015 hingga 29 Januari 2017.

Mereka didakwa mengikut Subseksyen 130V(1) Kanun Keseksaan (Akta 574) yang membawa hukuman maksimum 20 tahun penjara jika sabit kesalahan.

Roslan kemudian menetapkan 20 Mac depan sebagai tarikh sebutan semula dan tidak membenarkan semua tertuduh diikat jamin kerana kes berkenaan termasuk dalam jadual pertama Akta Keselamatan (Langkah-langkah Khas) 2012 (Sosma).
