Opening an account from overseasNAB Retirement AccountBecause of the extra eligibility documents we need to check, you can't open this account online. Instead you can: - call us on 13 13 12 from 8am - 8pm Mon-Fri, or 9am - 6pm on weekends (AEST/AEDT)
- see us at any branch.
After you apply onlineWe'll automatically email you within 60 seconds of receiving your application. We'll tell you if there's anything else you need to do, and what steps we'll take to open your account. Once we've opened your account we'll send you another email, and also post you a Welcome Pack with all the information you need about your new account. If your account includes a debit card, we'll post the card and PIN separately. Usually we'll send them directly to you, but you might need to pick them up from your nearest branch. New to NAB?After we've opened your account, you'll have to visit a NAB branch with 100 points of ID. This is a legal requirement. If you're an individual opening an account and are a U.S. citizen or tax resident, you'll be asked to provide your Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Social Security Number at the branch. Until we've seen your ID you can't take money out of your account (although you can make deposits into it). Acceptable ID includes your passport, driver's licence, and birth certificate. |
