关于验光师(optometrist)

我女朋友有兴趣这一课～由于我不清楚关于这科系所以帮她问一问～
请问如果有兴趣当一名验光师，它的升学途径是？
SPM-->?
验光师德工作范围是什么？
跟配镜师有什么差别？
本地有哪间大学/学院有提供这课程？（最好是私专）
而它requirement是什么？

你好，本地私立大专提供optometry（光学系）的有，IUCTT，SEGi，MSU和NIO。学费通常介于80-90K左右，入学一定要中六，SAM，Matrics，A-Levels等理科毕业。Foundation的话，就要看各自大专的要求。入学CGPA通常要3.0以上。

Optician就是所谓的配镜师，负责配镜工作，也就是统称的dispensing。课程也比较容易，比较注重在镜片和配镜方面。通常是diploma programme，2年就可以毕业。

Optometrist就是所谓的视光师，负责检验度数和检查眼睛，统称prescribing。课程比较注重在眼睛护理，眼睛内部健康，clinical practice和检验方面。是degree课程，需要最少4年毕业，还可以深造到master或phd。

在1991年光学法令（optical act 1991）下，由于10多年前，optometrist非常缺乏，而且通常需要在医院服务；为了解决国内检验度数的需求，optician被批准检验度数。但是附带条件是，如果未来国内的optometrist达到一个数目后，optician会不被准许检验度数。所以，以目前的趋势来说，optometrist的出路会比较广和有保障。optician目前还好啦，但是以后的趋势很难说。哦，还有在光学法令下，也只有optometrist和眼科医生才可以为人们配隐型眼睛，所以算是一个advantage吧。

但是，话说回来，如果lz的女友真的有兴趣向就读optometry,我会建议到外国会比较好。英国都有好几家大学提供这个课程。因为，本地的私立大专在提供这个课程方面，全部都还很新，在人力方面还相当不充足，整个系统也还不是很完善。授课最久的私立大专IUCTT也只不过才6年而已。

那请问目前验光师会是人才多过需求量吗？因为之前有听说很多人都选择就读这个科目。
那在ukm他的教学媒介语是国语还是英语？examination mostly in malay?

目前眼镜店都很缺验眼师，因为少人读。（可以自己找看报纸的Vacancy）
