Objective:
Introduction of I Liq Chuan
Understanding the Mindfulness, Blood Circulation and Stamina, Muscles and skeletal structure
To impart proper utilization of techniques in martial art applications.
COURSE CONTENT
Introduction and Explanation by Sifu 10:00am – 10:30am
History & Origins.
Feng Yang Xing Yi & Ru Yi Bagua
Development Years (1970s)

The establishment of Jimmy Heow I Liq Chuan
Yi Dao & Liq Hok
Body & Mind Training 10:30am - 12:30pm
Selected Basic Exercises of I Liq Chuan includes of Strength development and joints loosening exercise
First Section of 21 Form
Body co-ordination, the head, the arms, the torso, the waist and the legs
Breathing co-ordination
Break (Lunch) 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Viewing video on the participants progress on the 21 Form
Basic Stationary Spinning Hands Techniques (Partner Training) 2:00pm – 2:30pm
Outer Circle & Single Hand Circle
Training for sensitivity, control & balance
Basic understanding of strength and usage of force
Applying First section of 21 Form for Self Defense / Push Hands 2:30pm – 3:30pm
Application of techniques
Understanding your opponent in relation to your body mechanics.
Questions & Answers 3:30pm – 4:00pm
Viewing video on the participants progress on the Spinning Hands Techniques
LIQ HOK WORKSHOP – 2nd May 2010
Objective:
Introduction and explanations science of “Liq Hok” –proper use of strength and body mechanics to generate power according the I Liq Chuan principles.
The study of energy within circles
To impart proper utilization of techniques in martial art applications.
COURSE CONTENT
Introduction and Explanation by Sifu 10:00am – 10:20am
Warm Up Exercises 10:30am - 11:00am
Stationary Spinning Hands Techniques 11:00am – 12:00pm
Outer & Inner Circle
3 Attacking angles
3 defensive angles
Training for sensitivity, control & balance.
Basic understanding of strength and usage of force.
Application of “Liq Hok” in free form.
Break (Lunch) 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Basic Fa-Jing exercises 1:15pm – 2:00pm
Basic understanding of body mechanics to develop power.
Training for issuance of force.
Partner Training with the 3 attacking angles
Applying “Liq Hok” in Self Defence / San Da 2:00pm – 3:00pm
3 Attacking techniques
3 defensive techniques
Application of techniques
Understanding your opponent in relation to your body mechanics.
Free Flow Push Hands and Applications 3:00pm – 3:45pm
Applications of push hands & san da against different opponents (body physiques, weights, etc.)

Co-founder of I Liq Chuan Malaysia Association
In 1975, he won the international Karate Open Championship Group B in Malaysia Karate Open Championship.
In 1977, In the Kuala Lumpur / Selangor Second Chinese Martial Art Championship, he won the Heavy Weight Group B Championship.
In 1978, The First All Malaysian Chinese Wushu Tournament, he was the heavy weight Group B runner – up.
In 1980, he was the second runner-up, heavy weight Group B, in the Fifth International Chinese Martial Arts Championship organized by the Malaysia Chinese Wushu Federation.
In the same year, he was the Champion, Class B in the Third Selangor KL Chinese Wushu Association Championship and was the First Runner Up in the Hong Kong Open Champion of Champions Tournament, Heavyweight Division.
In 1985, he was the Push Hand Champion in KL / Selangor Chinese Wushu Federation Tournament. In the same year, he was the Champion in the Malaysia – Thailand Kickboxing Championship.
In 1986 to 1990, Jimmy challenged in the media, any and all Tai Chi exponents in Malaysia and abroad for Push Hand competitions. Challengers representing all the known Tai Chi schools such as Chen and Yang styles came from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, Singapore and as far as Hawaii. He was undefeated.
Master Jimmy Heow has also exchange and touch hands with a lot of famous martial arts masters like his uncle, Master Chin Lik Keong (Founder of I Liq Chuan), Master Huang Sheng Yen (Yang style Tai Chi), Karel Koskuba ( Head of Yi Quan UK, Chen style Tai Chi under Master Chen Xiao Wang), etc. |
