joel赢了一份合约,那他是不是要辞去现在的工呢?
我真的替你捏了一把冷汗,还好那个蓝色的carpet最后都来得及放上去。
要不然后果不堪设想。。。你也可能被千夫所指呢 |

Victorious Joel
By SHEELA CHANDRAN
Joel Neoh of The Firm proves that age is not a barrier in becoming a true entrepreneur.

The winner of The Firm, Joel Neoh.
NTV7’S reality TV show The Firm winner Joel Neoh has proven that being young does not mean you cannot be a successful entrepreneur.
Although the youngest of the constestants, the 24-year-old outshined his older team-mates to take home the grand prize of a Ssangyong Actyon Sports XD1 200 four-wheel drive and a job offer from financial services company Tune Money. The job will be tailored based on Neoh’s background and qualification as a mechanical engineer.
“It’s unbelievable that I’ve won this competition. I’m only 24 years old and it still hasn’t sunk in that I’ve won a brand new car and a job,” said Neoh during an interview in Petaling Jaya.
When asked if he would be accepting the job, Neoh smiled and said he is still considering the offer.
“It depends on the contract. It is also difficult to leave my current position as I’m passionate about my job,” said the friendly lad who moonlights as a model and emcee.
Neoh beat finalist entrepreneur Ernie Chen, 30, in the station’s first corporate reality TV series.
The Firm revolves around 10 contestants’ struggle to climb up the corporate ladder. The show, ala Mark Burnett’s The Apprentice, came to an end last night after a three-month run.
Neoh admitted being initially intimidated when pitted against the older and more experienced participants. But instead of giving up, he took up the challenge to prove that age is no barrier to achieving success.
“The show taught me to be creative and enthusiastic in my undertakings. I realised that the older participants were more rigid whereas the younger ones were more creative and came up with more dynamic ideas,” said Neoh, who is a project director with Youth Malaysia.com.
The Firm saw contestants working together to find solutions to difficult tasks while dealing with daily corporate matters and challenges.
Each episode depicted a certain discipline in business that is imperative to the success of a corporate high-flier. These included branding, promotions, positioning and catering to a specific target market.
Contestants were divided into two teams – Team Momentum and Team Dynamic. Each week, contestants had to compete in a series of tasks with one contestant from the losing team being eliminated.
Guiding them were The Carat Club managing director Chan Boon Yong (Team Momentum), Brand Mercatus (Malaysia) chief executive officer Peter Pek (Team Dynamic) and Tune Money Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Tengku Zafful Aziz.
Tengku Zaffrul admitted being impressed with Neoh’s creativity and enthusiasm. According to him, it was Neoh’s passion and commitment that made him a cut above the rest.
“Joel (Neoh) is a very creative person and came up with interesting ideas compared to his team members. One of his most outstanding tasks was organising a fund raising project at a flee market.
“For the task, participants were given a small budget to generate more money. Joel cleverly used his budget and sold his space at the flee market and raked in a profit. This was an excellent idea and he won hands down.”
Neoh further proved his mettle in the concluding episode when he had to organise a celebrity charity fashion show, One Heart, Two Causes, Three Reasons.
He had a week to organise the show, including finding a venue, sponsors and celebrities. He emerged victor because of proper planning and dedication.
“All in all, the experience has been really great. I knew I would be one of the youngest participants but I wanted to inspire other youth.
“It is important for college students and teenagers to realise their potential and the importance of reaching out for their dreams.
“Once you have set your goal, you can attain it if you are focussed and determined.” |
