Gifts for Peace: What's it all about?
Gifts for Peace is our key centennial programme for all Scouts to tackle local issues and make a difference in our communities.
These Gifts for Peace are gifts of education, understanding, toleranceand respect for others, given by Scouts in the form ofcommunityprojects to other young people and their communities in orderto helpto build a better world.
Scouts worldwide are tackling issues in the following three working areas:
Managing Conflict without violence
- Conflict resolution, problem solving, negotitation and mediation, anger management
Challenging Prejudice
- Identifying and challenging prejudices and stereotypes, for example: racism, religious intolerance, bullying and gender
Encouraging greater solidarity
- Solidarity withunderpriviledged groups, for example: refugees, internally displacedpeople, asylum seekers, street children and ethnicminority groups.
Scouts in over one hundred countries are already working on GiftsforPeace projects. For example: Scouts in South Africa are working onanHIV/AIDS awareness project, Scouts in Egypt are working to tacklechildlabour, Scouts in Saudi Arabia are working to developinter-cultural andinter-religious understanding, Scouts in New Zealandare working onhealth issues and tackling youth suicide, Scouts inBrazil are workingto disarm young people and tackle violence in thehome and on thestreets and Scouts in Namibia are combating domesticviolence and theabuse of women and children.

别单单只是活在自己的童军世界~
全世界的童军都拥有着同样的使命~
我国的活动是:
Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia
Scouts in Malaysia are working to create awareness among young peopleofthe dangers of HIV/AIDS, and are learning how to stay healthy aswell asto understand the issues faced by those who have contractedHIV/AIDS.
Theyare working with the Ministry of Health and have developed threenewproficiency badges on HIV/AIDS awareness. The Scouts are passingonthese messages to others: their parents, brothers and sisters, friendsand peers, and are being encouraged to develop a healthylifestyle.
Over 69,000 people (out of a population estimatedto be just over 25million) are living with HIV in Malaysia. This numberis rising everyyear, and the Scouts realise that education is one ofthe best ways toprevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
