Netizens had been abuzz lately regarding the special privileges the stars under YG Entertainment seem to be receiving from the SBS. From the tremendous spotlight they received on Idol Big Show, as well as their special performances on Inkigayo, it's no surprise such controversy came up. Also, Inkigayo was the one that held almost all of YG artistes' comeback and debut stages. The accumulated time of their performances exceed the rest of the performing artists compared to MBC Show! Music Core and KBS Music Bank.
The producer, Park Sung Hoon, finally stood up to set up the rumors straight on the first of November at Seoul SBS Public Hall. He stated, "We never offered the YG to perform at our stage under the condition of appearing in no other music programs. I have started working with the YG President, Yang Hyun Suk, just lately, as I started working for Inkigayo. We two have been cooperating together since 2NE1's debut stage, and we seem to have a good chemistry."
He also added, "We select the stars based strictly on their popularity. As most of the music programs do, we cannot deny the guarantee of appearance we give to the ones in high fame, like Super Junior and SHINee."
Producer Park has been in charge of Inkigayo since January. He also had been getting numerous criticisms about the Idol Big Show, aka the "YG Big Show", due to the majority of their show taken by the performances by Big Bang (G-Dragon) and 2NE1. He also had something to say regarding that issue.
"We never favored the YG artistes for the Idol Big Show. Because of their popularity, we asked them to sing two to three songs, just like the rest of the stars. I think people just think that they took the majority because they all appeared consecutively toward the end of the show. Honestly, we offered other famous singers to sing more songs, but were rejected due to their busy schedule. The rumor about our favor toward YG is very unfair."
YG Entertainment expressed that they had been staying away from promoting Park Bom's solo, just like Dara with her, Kiss single. Dara's song topped the various music charts, but did not go on any further other that. They had believed that a special promotion will throw them off focus from their November album release.
A representative from YG stated on the 2nd, "Recently, the release of 2NE1's new album got delayed, clearing the path for Park Bom to promote her single. Because of the love we received, we will not be rushing to complete this (2NE1) album. We will work hard to make sure that every song is of a title song calibre."
Park Bom, obviously nervous for her very first stage without her fellow 2NE1 girls by her side, said "I am very happy these days, but am feeling the added pressure. I will try my best to be beneficial to my 2NE1." She is currently in a hectic training schedule from day to night, so that she can keep her promise to be the best.
Her anticipated stage will be unveiled on November 8th through SBS Inkigayo
