Industrial Training Institute (ILP) in Jelapang ,Ipoh, Perak Is open for registration. The Institute's signature courses are  Welding, Electrical, Foundry, Fabrication and Ceramic Technology.

The institute can cater up to 1000 students. Currently there are 800 students as per to this month intake. There are more than150 places available. Indian students made up to less than 40 students and Chinese students are only 2.

The institute lecturer MS. Latha said that there are openings now for more non - Malay students to grab the opportunity. The basic requirement is only SPM with BM pass only. 'Any candidates who meet these 2 basic requirements can be be immediately admitted to any of the courses offered' said Latha.

She further continued that the course duration is only 1 year 6 months which is equivalent to a Level 3 Certification. The total course is offered for FREE. The full scholarship by the Government includes monthly allowance of RM 100, lodging, food and course fee.   

The institute is now calling young Malaysians who has completed SPM to apply and grab the opportunity. Successful students can further to diploma program at ADTEC which is another institution under the Ministry of Human Resource or to any Higher  Skill Training Institutions.  

Latha said, ILP graduates are recruited by the industries especially offshore industries upon completing the program. These industries offer high salaries.  She Also said that Welding and Fabrication courses are high in demand.

Concern Citizens and CSOs must play a proactive role in recruiting students to The Different ILPs in the country. There are 37 ILPs in the country.
