这里有新闻关于沙巴的H1N1的CASE~
Kota Kinabalu, August 09, 2009: The public will not get hold of the AH1N1 vaccine that early as although the vaccine is expected to be available early September, tests need to be done on how the vaccine works.
"The Ministry has ordered supply, but we will have to do tests to see the results of the vaccine before releasing it to the public, she said. "It is for safety purposes." She said the earliest could be by end of December this year, if not early next year. Rosnah also urged the public to take lots of precautions such as being really hygienic and take good care of their health.
"There are 385 cases( ) reported up to date in Sabah, where 14 are still warded in hospitals. This is not a small number. It is very worrying and people must follow the advice given by the Health Department which can be seen on television," she said.
She also advised especially expecting mothers and those who are sick to be extra careful as they are more prone to be infected.
"We are not very happy with the numbers in the Sabah. We hope with the increased awareness of the public, the number can be lessened. We will also make sure that Tamiflu supply (anti-viral) is enough for treatment purposes," she added. Rosnah also said public requests to shut down schools were not advisable unless unavoidable as it would affect studies.
"We do not shut down schools like what public requests, because this is a continuous situation. The best option is to take all needed precautions to control the spread. Some 30 schools were closed for a week from all over Sabah, the last one in Tawau.
" Parents are urged not to take the opportunity to go for holidays during quarantined period. Stay at home and do other useful activities instead of going out of the house and risk others getting infected," she said.
Rosnah launched the World Breastfeeding Week which started from 1 to 7 August accompanied by Assistant minister in the Information technology and sources Development Ministry, Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin, Tanjung Kapur Assemblyman, Datuk Teo Chee Kang, Liberal Democratic Party Chief, Chin Shu Ying and organising chairperson of the event, Dr Maria Suleiman.
The World Breastfeeding week is aimed at creating more awareness on the benefits of breastfeeding to both mother and child. It was also to encourage mothers to breastfeed infants to give them the immunity they need that can only be found from mothers' milk, for at least six months and up to 2 years after that.
Mothers who successfully breastfed their babies for the past six months were given prizes as encouragement to the public during the event.
Meanwhile a blood donation campaign was also held in conjunction of the World Breastfeeding Week by LDP with the theme 'Blood Donor, Life Saver'.
As a source of encouragement, the Ministry is going to give free medical treatment to those who at least donated once for a period of four months after the date of donation, Rosnah said.
For those who donated 50 times and more, they will be given free treatment and outpatient first class ward for 10 years, and second class ward for life after 10 years.
