不過美麗的影音背後,總會伴隨極高的硬體需求,我先說一下我的配備,我是使用 Duo E6750 CPU 搭配 8800GTS顯示卡,2GBRAM來跑這遊戲,算是中間偏高的硬體配備,基本這樣的配備可以順利全程以最高畫質、以及四倍反鋸齒進行遊戲,整體感覺並不會太卡。這樣的表現比我預期的好很多,FPS 張數也很足夠,唯一會覺得LAG的地方就只有利用傳送師快速飛行時,因為這個時候需要讀取很多的地圖場景,因此效能會卡在硬碟上。我認為AION本身對硬體效能最佳化有一定水準,例如在視野部分的限制,把視野開遠也不會無限讀取遠方的物件,就如同看遠方一樣,本來就只能看到大致景色,一來會有遠近景深的差距,二來又不會浪費效能。我很驚訝的是,只要讓他穩定讀取完資料以後,之後的行動都非常順利,甚至是最後一天近百人的拍照大會,都沒有我想像的LAG,因為我保持著效能全開的狀況,仍可順利進行遊戲,有些畫質比AION差的遊戲,我在百人集會中用同樣硬體開全特效,還會變成幻燈片呢!這之間的最佳化差異,已經很明顯比較出來。

NCsoft has successfully completed the third stage of closed beta testing for Aion on July 20. Beta testers were able to play Aion’s core features including Realm vs. ealm (RvR) in the Abyss, a designated zone where the two factions, Elyos and Asmodians, constantly battle for various fortresses as well as abundant item crafting, new quests, better user interface, and higher level character advancement. NCsoft plans to start an open beta testing and official launch in 4Q this year. For major overseas markets, we expect to launch the game within three to six months from the launch in Korea.
