MALAYSIA AIRPORTS TO RECOUP LCCT EXPANSION IN 2 YEARS DUE TO HIGHER TRAFFIC MALAYSIA AIRPORTS HOLDINGS targets to recoup the RM123.9m spent on expanding the existing LCCT in two years due to higher passenger traffic growth, said Senior GM (Operations) AZMI MURAD. The airport operator is projecting passenger traffic at the LCCT, located at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), to hit 15m in 2011, up from 10.1m in 2008.
AZMI said they are projecting a 30% growth in passenger traffic at the LCCT for 2009, largely from the international side.
The expanded terminal, which had doubled in size, also has more retail space and new facilities to cater for bigger aircraft. AZMI MURAD during a media tour at the new LCCT International Departure at Sepang on Mar 17, 2009 said that MALAYSIA AIRPORTS derives its income from passenger service tax, rentals of commercial space and aeronautical fees charged to airlines.
EXPANDED FACILITIES TO HIT MAX CAPACITY BY 2011
For 2008, international travellers accounted for 50%, or 5.08m passengers, at the LCCT. The number is expected to increase this year as AIRASIA X increases its capacity. The expanded LCCT is expected to hit full capacity by 2011.
By then, a new permanent LCCT, also at KLIA, is scheduled to be operational, which has the capacity to handle 45m passengers annually. The present LCCT will then be reverted to its original role as a cargo handling terminal.
The LCCT was originally constructed at a cost of RM108m in 2005, with later upgrades costing more than the original cost of building it as the LCCT doubled in size, which included a new RM45m baggage handling system. |

AIRASIA TO SHARE IT COSTS AIRASIA reported Mar 16, 2009 that it had entered into an IT-shared services agreement with TUNE MONEY sb to maximise and optimise the use of the resources, expertise and facilities of AIRASIA's IT department and as an additional source of recurring income to AIRASIA.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Company would provide TUNE MONEY a range of IT services on a sharing basis including but not limited to resources, expertise, and facilities in exchange for a payment of a fee. The fee is based on 25% of the total monthly payroll costs of AIRASIA's IT department and the cost of any shared facilities provided by AIRASIA to TUNE MONEY by virtue of the agreement. The fee payable by TUNE MONEY to AIRASIA will be RM100,000 per month. Both companies have common shareholders. |

SINGAPORE AIRLINES OFFERS 2-YEAR NO PAY LEAVE FOR 1,400 MANAGERS More than 1,400 SINGAPORE AIRLINES staff have volunteered to take no-pay leave, but this will not be enough to help the Airline through the current slump reported the STRAITS TIMES on Apr 2, 2009.
COMPULSORY NO-PAY LEAVE
The Airline is now forced to take further steps such as compulsory leave of up to one day a month for all, and a wage freeze for management staff for FYE Mar 2010.
Senior management are already on the shorter-work-month scheme and managers will commence May 1, 2009. Agreements for this cost-saving has been reached with SINGAPORE AIRLINES STAFF UNION and the AIRLINE EXECUTIVE STAFF UNION. Other ground workers and cabin crew are to be put on the scheme, possibly from May 1, 2009 as well. Discussions are still ongoing with the pilots' union, SIA said.
NO PAY LEAVE OF UP TO 2-YEARS
A few weeks ago, SIA told its more than 14,000 employees that applications were open for no-pay leave � for anything from one week to two years. The deadline for acceptances expired on Mar 31, 2009.
ALAN TAN - President of the SIA Staff Union, which represents cabin crew and other rank-and-file staff, told THE STRAITS TIMES that the leave scheme for cabin crew and ground staff will differ.
For ground workers, the compulsory day of leave per month can be no-pay leave, or from their paid annual leave.
For cabin crew, it will be one day of no-pay leave every four months. For rostering purposes and other operational reasons, they cannot take the compulsory leave out of their annual vacations.
CAPTAIN P JAMES - President of the AIRLINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION-SINGAPORE, said the union is still in discussions with the management.
The Airline said that the majority who had taken the offer were cabin crew and for periods of less than one month. The Airline also said that it cannot rule out further steps to contain costs if the economic downturn results in a worsening travel slump.
CUTTING SEAT CAPACITY
The staff-cutting measures are needed to match seat capacity cuts of up to 11% over the next 12 months.
SIA will also take 17 aircraft from its fleet of just over 100 planes out of service for at least a year. |

解除利率掉期合約
亞航股價寫新高
(吉隆坡6日訊)亞洲航空(AIRASIA,5099,主板貿易)將持續趁低利率期間,解除部分利率掉期(IRS)合約,激勵今日股價表現大勇,衝上9個月新高水平。
亞航今早以微揚0.5仙,報1令吉迎市,爾后漲幅緩緩擴大,並站上全日最高1.08令吉,也是自去年7月23日以來最高水平。
休市時,亞航掛1.08令吉,漲8.5仙,半日成交量已高達1056萬8900股,為十大熱門股之一。
亞航總執行長東尼費南達斯向《商業時報》指出,長痛不如短痛,公司將趁目前利率低,解除部分利率掉期。
異常損失擴大
亞航目前繳付固定利率3.25%及5.2%,長達12至14年,如今12年的將固定在3%,其他普通維持在5%。
ECM證券研究分析報告指出,亞航在08年末季解除部分利率掉期,並損失1億4500萬令吉,但公司卻未透露利率掉期的總計額。
截至去年12月底,亞航借貸高達67億令吉,及總值249億令吉的資本承擔(capital commitment)。
為此預計拖欠的利率掉期總數不超過316億令吉,相信本財年亞航會有更多的異常損失(exceptional losses)。
在尚未獲得亞航管理層的明確解說前,ECM證券研究將會維所有財測。
ECM證券研究將維持亞航“買進”投資評級,目標價1.09令吉。
閉市時,亞航掛1.06令吉,揚6.5仙,成交量為1587萬8000股。 |

尽管分析员预估亚洲航空(AirAsia,5099,主板贸服股)或在今年会面临更多的特别亏损,但依然维持早前对该公司的收益预测,并给予“买入”的投资评级,而目标价格则为1.90令吉。
亚航总执行长拿督斯里东尼费南透露,该公司也趁目前的低利率时期,为部份的利率互换(IRS)平仓。
亚航在去年底为止的共有67亿令吉的未偿还债务。另外,该公司的总资本支出高达249亿令吉,主要用作未来的飞机购置计划。
飞机购置计划是亚航借贷的主要因素。为了锁定现有与未来飞机购置的借贷利率,亚航也因此为部分的利率互换平仓。
所以,分析员预测该公司的未偿还利率互换不会超过316亿令吉。 |

亞航平倉部份利率掉匯合約獲認同

(吉隆坡)亞洲航空(AIRASIA,5099,主板貿服組)趁目前利率走低,計劃平倉部份的利率掉匯合約之舉獲得市場認同。
亞航首席執行員拿督斯里東尼費南達斯接受報章訪問時指出,亞航趁目前利率偏低時機,計劃平倉部份利率掉匯合約。
較早時,亞航為購買現有及未來飛機融資進行利率掉匯行動,以鎖定融資利率及進行護盤。
益資利研究表示,亞航的借貸主要充當購買飛機用途,也是風險管理一部份。亞航於2008年第4季平倉部份利率掉匯合約,蒙受1億4500萬令吉的掉匯合約虧損。
亞航為期12年至14年的借貸的利率固定在3.25%至5.20%間。目前12年平均利率曲線為3%,而亞航的大部份利率固定在5%水平。
截至2008年12月31日為止,亞航尚欠借貸達67億令吉,同時它的綜合資本承諾也達到249億令吉水平,主要與未來購買飛機有關連。

首季增長21%
亞航乘客量逆市增長
(吉隆坡9日訊)全球航空業受經濟低迷影響,惟亞洲航空(AIRASIA,5099,主板貿易)乘客量仍在非常時期逆市增長21%。
亞航總執行長東尼費南德斯指出,本財年首季乘客量按年增長21%,這也與公司的載客量成長相符。
亞航近幾年一直在增購客機,提升載客量。
券商認為,亞航欲達至長期收益增長,必須盡量避免參與削價戰,針對此事東尼回應說:“我們業務策略向來都很集中。”
“亞航原本就是廉價航空,況且不見得市面上有多少家廉價航客業者,主要的競爭對象還是全方位航空公司。”
東尼對于亞航的業務長期前景看俏。
他今日出席“聯昌亞航儲蓄戶頭”(Cimb Bank Airasia Savers Account)推介禮后的記者會上,發表談話。列席者包括土著聯昌(COMMERZ,1023,主板金融)總執行長拿督納西爾、聯昌零售銀行主管彼得英格蘭,及Tune Money總執行長賴麗盈。
推出網上儲蓄戶頭
亞航早前預測,今年乘客成長15%到20%至2200萬人次,詢及目前是否順利朝向目標,他說:“我對此感到非常樂觀。”
亞航今日與聯昌銀行及Tune Money聯合推出一網上儲蓄戶頭,平均每年利率可達2%,主要瞄準及方便喜愛旅遊的消費者。
東尼指出,新產品的推出符合公司一直以來的策略,物超所值,同時鼓勵更多人旅遊。
納西爾說,已和聯昌銀行的區域負責人展開洽談,將上述新產品推廣至區域的可行性。
納西爾:合併計劃之一
關60分行無關不景氣
納西爾澄清,聯昌銀行關閉60間分行是收購南方銀行(Sourthen Bank)后的合併計劃之一,並非因不景氣而關閉。
稍早前,有報導引述聯昌銀行銷售與分銷部主管蘇萊曼的話說,今年8月會關閉60間分行。
蘇萊曼也指出,明年開始,通過關閉分行可省下5000萬至6000萬令吉,引起市場揣測基于經濟低迷,聯昌銀行選擇關閉部分分行削減成本。
針對此事,納西爾說,這是合併計劃的第3階段。
不會裁員
“首階段是將逾400間分行合併至385間,第2階段則是達365間(也就是目前分行數量),如今進入第3階段則是合併至320間。”
他解釋,合併后,非策略性地區的分行無需保留,公司將在有需求的地方增設分行,因此總計有60間分行需要關閉,並非因為經濟不景。
受影響員工將獲安排至其他分行,他再強調:“我們不會裁員!”
聯昌銀行與亞航及Tune Money聯合推出“聯昌亞航儲蓄戶頭”,彼得英格蘭預計年底前新產品可為銀行增加15萬儲蓄戶。
“預計新產品帶來的存款額可達3億至3.5億令吉。”
聯昌銀行早前預測今年全年存款成長率可達20%、貸款8%及抵押貸款13%。

今日適逢新內閣名單出爐的大日子,身為首相弟弟的納西爾難免遭媒體追問對新內閣的看法,他直接搖頭說:“這沒什么好回應的,我們還是專注在新產品推介吧!”
話一說完,他轉向東尼說:“幸好東尼並沒有在內閣名單內。”
就在全場哄堂大笑之際,東尼回應說:“如果我是內閣成員之一,我必定是個優秀的交通部長,”全場再度捧腹大笑。 |
