（英格蘭‧倫敦）英國《每日郵報》報導，利物浦主帥貝尼特茲（Rafael Benitez）與中場大將阿隆索（Xabi Alonso）的關係繼續交惡，阿隆索更可能在未來48小時內，決定自己未來的去留。
利物浦以5球大勝新加坡後，貝尼特茲在新聞會上卻先談阿隆索的轉會問題，貝尼特茲說：“我們已經就這個問題糾纏將近兩個月，我想這是阿隆索的問題，不是利物浦的問題。”
被詢及對壘新加坡之仗是否是阿隆索的最後一場紅軍比賽，貝尼特茲說：“他的合同還有3年，大家都知道他是一名出色的球員，這也是當初利物浦簽下阿隆索和提供一份新合同的原因。”

Spanish newspaper Marca and AS report this morning that Liverpool have demanded that the future of Xabi Alonso be resolved in the next 48 hours, with a move to Real Madrid all but certain.

According to AS, Rafa Benitez has told Alonso: " want you to resolve your situation as soon as possible, for better or for worse. Ideally the transfer should be done in 48 hours; I need some time to find a replacement."

AS claim that negotiations between Real Madrid and Liverpool resumed yesterday and Marca add that the Merseyside giants will sell within the time limit for 30 million euros.

Marca add that Liverpool have set their sights on Roma central midfielder Alberto Aquilani as the replacement for Alonso.

Reports in Spain have also confirmed that Alonso will be joined at the Bernabeu by Liverpool right back Alvaro Arbeloa who will move for four million euros. The deal for Arbeloa is done, the clubs are just negotiating how the payment will be made.

Real Madrid & Liverpool Reach 4m Agreement For Alvaro Arbeloa - Report

Real Madrid are set to complete the transfer of Alvaro Arbeloa from Liverpool.

It was speculated last weekend that Arbeloa would complete his move to the Bernabeu some time this week, and fresh reports now suggest that the deal is as good as done.

According to AS, the 26-year-old has accepted contract terms from the ‘White House’ and a transfer fee of 4 million has been agreed. The only thing that remains now is for the clubs to resolve the method of payment.

The newspaper, however, is still confident that, as per the promise from last week, the transfer will be made official shortly after the player concludes the remainder of his summer holidays.

The report does contradict the Madrid hierarchy’s stance of not bringing in any more new signings until they are able to trim down their squad. But Arbeloa's arrival will all but complete Los Blancos' rebuilding plans for their back line.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have also reportedly accepted a 4.5 million offer from Napoli for left-back Andrea Dossena.

Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez Hints At Unrealistic Valuation Of Xabi Alonso

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has suggested the club are being quoted extortionate prices for Spanish players because of their big spending this summer.

Los Blancos have been publicly admiring Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso and have declared themselves interested in buying the player.

Reds manager Rafael Benitez is, of course, reluctant to sell one of his most influential stars, leading Perez to state his belief that the fee needed to dislodge Spaniards from their clubs has been grossly inflated.

"We made huge attempts at the start to sign players who had won the Ballon d'Or or the World Footballer of the Year award," Perez said, according to The Daily Telegraph.

"But the arrivals of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo have confused some people who obviously thought that, because we said we wanted more Spanish players, they could ask for fees which don't correspond to reality.

"A year ago, certain players we have asked about would have cost less than half the price we are being quoted now. There is nothing that justifies these prices."

Perez added that such valuations may force Los Merengues to look within their current ranks, stating, "If necessary, we will find the Spanish players we would like for the squad in our youth system."

Liverpool boss Benitez has recently stated Alonso must decide if he wants to stay at Anfield, pointing to the support he currently receives from the club's fans as a reason not to leave.
