1. I am late again, aren't I?
2. If anybody calls me, tell him/her to leave a message.
(1) I am late again, am I?
(2) If anybody call me, tell them to leave a massage
正解:
(1) I am late again, aren't I?
(haven't I => aren't I)
Question Tags:
He is..., isn't he?
They are..., aren't they?
She was..., wasn't she?
You were..., weren't you?
I am..., amn't I?
I am..., aren't I?
(2) If anybody calls, tell them to leave a message.
(her => them, massage => message*, massage* 是马杀鸡/按摩)
Someone left their cellphone behind.
Everybody thinks they're important.
*message 的发音: /'me sɪdʒ/

about 15,400,000 for "everybody thinks they are"
about 72,300 for "everybody thinks he/she is
about 91,900 for "everybody thinks he or she is"
可以想象, he/she 难免又会引起那些“性别主义者”的争辩:为什么 he/she,为什么不 she/he...... |

正解:
(1) I want to live for hundred years.
I want to live for a hundred years.
(2) A 8-year-old boy was injured in a run-and-hit crash Tuesday afternoon.
An 8-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday afternoon.
别忘了 8=eight,所以 an eight-year-old
Cambridge: crash = an accident, especially one which damages a vehicle: a car crash
Tuesday afternoon.
... on Tuesday afternoon 或 ...

I bought this camera on Tuesday.
I'm going to buy a camera on Tuesday.
I bought this camera on Tuesday.
I bought this camera last Tuesday.

it's sad but totally true especially in this multi-lingual society, grammatical mistakes in english or misuses of words are so common.and we're non-native English speakers.the standard of english in the nation is still pretty low. There're some bastards who still want english to be discontinued in teaching sciences & mathematics.
加上馬來西亞人講話的style都是比較relaxed and as long as u get ur message across to the people u're talking to everything should be fine.if the case is a teacher's perceptive that could also be a different point of view.however, i still prefer to speak in proper english.i think learning languages is still a never ending process as we all age. |
