COURSE SYNOPSIS FOR
CO-CURRICULUM OFFERED IN JUNE 2007 SEMESTER
KAB1011 APPRECIATION OF FILM
This course aims to teach students basic film literacy. It aims to equip students with some knowledge necessary to speak and write about some important aspects of film, such as narrative and stylistics that cover the various techniques such as story, setting, editing, sound and cinematography. It also aims to give a brief survey of major movements in the history of the cinema, and the different forms of film. By the end of the course, they should acquire substantial interest in film and all its elements, hence giving them better understanding and appreciation on what film is all about. The course does not intend to turn the students into filmmakers or ‘artistes’. However, should they be inspired to venture into this area, the course will provide them some insights into the film industry.
Examples of topics that may be covered:
1. Definition of Film
2. Elements in Film
3. Brief History of Film
4. On Film Industry
5. What constitutes great film
KCB1011 KHIDMAT MASYARAKAT
“Kehadiran UNITAR di tengah masyarakat adalah untuk membantu menerangi kehidupan masyarakat melalui ilmu yang disebarkan” ; “ Kehadiran mahasiswa UNITAR di hati masyarakat adalah untuk membantu menggilapkan lagi cahaya dari ilmu yang sudah digarap melalui sumbangan khidmat yang boleh menolong membangun masyarakat”.
Kedua-dua kenyataan diatas merupakan sebahagian dari terjemahan terhadap misi dan visi UNITAR bagi menghasilkan graduan yang cemerlang bukan sahaja dalam akademik tetapi juga sebagai penggerak masyarakat mereka. Kerja-kerja kemasyarakatan oleh mahasiswa merupakan aktiviti-akativiti bersama masyarakat yang dirancang dengan baik dan penuh tanggungjawab bagi membantu mereka yang memerlukan. Kerja-kerja yang dijalankan adalah merupakan jalinan kerjasama dengan pihak lain yang bertanggungjawab untuk membantu masyarakat seperti badan-badan kerajaan dan bukan kerajaan DAN bukan merupakan saingan kepada badan-badan tersebut.

KMB1071 QUALITY MANAGEMENT
To enhance students awareness of the disciplines, systems and techniques of quality management. To enable students to apply quality management methods to all activities in the business or organization. To provide students with a deeper understanding of one of the quality management tools i.e. ISO 90001: 2000 requirements. To enable students to develop a standard operating procedure or manual by applying the process mapping approach.

KMB1081 INFORMATION LITERACY
Information Literacy "is the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information. Information literacy also is increasingly important in the contemporary environment of rapid technological change and proliferating information resources. Because of the escalating complexity of this environment, individuals are faced with diverse, abundant information choices--in their academic studies, in the workplace, and in their personal lives. Information is available through libraries, community resources, special interest organizations, media, and the Internet--and increasingly, information comes to individuals in unfiltered formats, raising questions about its authenticity, validity, and reliability. In addition, information is available through multiple media, including graphical, aural, and textual, and these pose new challenges for individuals in evaluating and understanding it. The uncertain quality and expanding quantity of information pose large challenges for society. The sheer abundance of information will not in itself create a more informed citizenry without a complementary cluster of abilities necessary to use information effectively.

unitar文凭吃香吗?
我是BBA,majoring in Finance.其实现在不是说什么文凭吃不吃香这种问题了。有很多公司都不怎么在意什么学校的文凭。通常的人都是在看成绩和interview的时候。所以不在意学校是不是名校之类的。有些大公司,你进去面试的时候都要考test的。所以最重要是把书读好。而且BBA还蛮多工作做的,目前为止unitar BBA的学生的失业率很低而已。所以不会有什么问题咯! |
