T WAS through of Faye Wong that I first discovered the world of Canto pop. Sure, there were other artistes before her, but there was something about her voice that just captivated my ears.

And now, fans can get a chance to listen to her live again. Yup! The much-anticipated concert production in the Chinese pop scene – the aptly named Faye Wong Concert Tour 2011 – is confirmed to come to Singapore this year.
Brought in by local concert organiser Running Into the Sun, the concert is to be held on Oct 29 at Singapore Indoor Stadium following her successful sell-out concerts in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other Chinese cities.
She’s not only garnered the Best Selling Female Pop Act record in Guinness Records in 2000, this pop songstress will perform most of her signature hits from the wide repertoire made up from her countless well-known albums under her belt.

(Of course, although the production value is said to be out of this world, don’t expect her to do anything wacky like last time. That is, if you call standing still and singing “wacky”.)
