‘Is Big Bang losing their touch?’
A member of the group Big Bang, Taeyang’s recently released song ‘I Need a Girl’ is not doing so well. While they had swept first place on music charts with ‘Lies’ and ‘Last Farewell’ in 2007, ‘Haru Haru’ and ‘Sunset Glow’ in 2008, now it’s almost as if Big Bang’s grandness can no longer be felt.
The song that was released on the 1st is only in 6th place on Bugs by the 6th of July. Melon and Dosirak. 5th place on Soribada. And it’s in 8th place on Cyworld. It made it to 2nd place on mnet.com and is barely holding on. All the while, IU (Nagging) is reigning in the popularity and Jo Kwon (The Day of Confessing My Love) is doing likewise having released his comeback song post-World Cup. Narsha (I’m In Love). Son Dambi (Can’t U See) and others are providing competition, and [Taeyang] is fighting hard. He’s losing not only to veteran singers but also to miss A (Bad Girl Good Girl) who just made their debut.
Taeyang had to recover his pride last year after releasing ‘Where U At’ and ‘Wedding Dress,’ both of which were below expectations. It’s obvious that YG especially gave blood, sweat and tears to this new song. You can tell even just from the featuring by the team’s ace, G-Dragon. Because of all this, Taeyang’s slump is that much more of a shock. Not only Taeyang, but Daesung (Cotton Candy) who also released a new song this year received a reaction that was subpar to its expected popularity.
TaeYang, “I had a blind date with Yuri, and we are getting along well now”

Big Bang TaeYang’s surprising statement, “Through friend’s recommendation, I had blind date with So Nyeo Shi Dae Yuri last winter. Even now, we still keep in touch.”
Even though there are many stars who confessed on which other stars they meet up with, this will be the first time a popular idol confesses that he had met another idol through a blind date.
This was revealed during TaeYang’s appearance on SBS Strong Heart filming on 8th July. TaeYang said on the show, “I have not been in a relationship even until now. But for this year, I really want to meet a girl whom I really like and have my first relationship.”
Member SeungRi who was also present said, “We want to help TaeYang get a girl too. But without telling anyone of us, he actually went to So Nyeo Shi Dae’s concert alone.”
Taking SeungRi’s hint, MC Kang Ho Dong asked, “SeungRi’s really a good friend of ‘Strong Heart’. Thank you.” and to TaeYang, “Why did you go to SNSD concert alone? Did you receive anyone’s invitation?”
Flustered, TaeYang said, “For the 1 year I worked on the album, my mind was only on work and I didn’t go out much. Seeing that, a friend came forward and told me ‘I will introduce someone, go meet her. She has a good personality. It would be good if you can get along well.’. And the person turned out to be SNSD Yuri.” which had the other star appearances on the show shocked.
TaeYang added, “I was invited to SNSD’s concert by Yuri. After that we kept in touch and got along well. And this year, SeungRi became schoolmates with Yuri at JoongAng University and he got to know about me and Yuri.”
Hong KyungMin then chipped in, “Talks like these are talks we would not have dreamed to do on shows during our times.”
TaeYang also said on the show that day, “If I my relationship with Yuri is very deep, I don’t think I will confess like this today. We talk a lot about music on the phone these days. I look at us as close colleagues.”
And SeungRi then gave a hilarious comment, “It always starts with friends right.”
Taeyang’s new music video for “I Need A Girl” to be released on July 9th!

Taeyang’s normal edition of his solo album titled SOLAR will be released today on the 9th.
Taeyang released a music video featuring Sandara Park from 2NE1 and G-Dragon for his title track “I Need A Girl” on July 1st in which Sandara acted as his girlfriend. However after YG Entertainment realized how important videos of Taeyang dacing are to his fans he decided to release a second version of the MV.
YG stated, “Taeyang didn’t dance in the last video but as fanservice, he will present a dynamic and sensitive dance with Sandara Park on the new music video.”
Taeyang’s new music video for “I Need A Girl” featuring Dara will be released today, July 9th at 9PM(KST). The reaction for this new music video is expected to be hot.
