P & D Apparel sets up first Baleno outlet in S’wak

BINTULU: The exclusive brand-owner of Baleno, including the Samuel & Kevin brand, P&D Apparel Sdn Bhd yesterday launched a retail store on the first floor of the newly-opened Parkcity Mall in Parkcity Commercial Centre here.
P&D Apparel Sdn Bhd managing director Agnes Chin said the store was the first to be set up in the State.
She said her company was looking at establishing several more similar retail stores in Sibu, Kuching and Miri in the next 12 months.
“This is our first retail store in Sarawak. We are looking at opening up more in Sarawak,” she said, adding that the brand name itself, which originated from Hong Kong had became an international outfit among the youngsters throughout the world.
She said the company targeted people who were 40 years old and below.
“We are bringing to you exclusive attires that are of international standard and its another choice of branded wear,” she added.
On the international retail chain, Chin said they had retail stores in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and the Middle East countries.
“There are more than 2,000 outlets worldwide, and our company, P & D Apparel Sdn Bhd is the exclusive brandowner and the first to start this store in Sarawak,” she said.
According to her, there are over 30 Baleno and Samuel & Kevin outlets across Peninsular Malaysia.
“We are now proud to introduce both brands to the people here,” Chin said.
Baleno is a famous casual brand that offers basic, comfortable and good quality apparel for the mass market at a reasonable price.
To boost the brand further, Asian popular star, Andy Lau is the spokesperson of Baleno.
On the other hand, Samuel & Kevin trendy styles and designs that had emphasised on the uniqueness of mix-and-match the apparels had developed the brand into a popular casual-wear brand among the youth.
On the Baleno brand, she said it was launched in Hong Kong in 1996, and the products include casual wears like T-shirts, polo and jeans, and just recently it had launched the kids wears called YOYOBOBO.
The Samuel & Kevin brand or S&K brand on the other hand is another reputable brand under Baleno Holdings Limited since its establishment in 1997.
S&K has developed into a popular and famous casual-wear brand among the young people.
Its trendy styles and designs always catch the fashion sense that enables S&K to be a pioneer in the casual-wear garment market in mainland China.
In 2002, S&K had invited a popular band, F4, as spokesperson to enhance its image.
Until June 2005, S&K has developed more than 600 outlets around the world.
The extensive retail network not only witnesses the rapid growth and development of S&K, but also signifies its successful marketing strategies and leading position in the market.
