on the bed 没错,躺在床上面......
in bed 的用法是不加 'the' 的:
He lay in bed thinking.
He had breakfast in bed.
He is good in bed.

On the bed lay a beautiful young girl.
Where were you last night?
Here comes the teacher!
There goes the vicar!
There are birds in the tree.
'I am hungry.' 'So am I.'
Only then did I understand what he meant.
Had I known what was going to happen, I would never have left her alone.
Round the corner came a milk-van.
Only yesterday did I realize what was going on. |

like, love, hate, hear, know, mean, understand, believe, taste, think, smell, have, belong
He is walking his dog.
She is talking on the phone.
I was listening to the news.
I am having a pet.
This book is belonging to me.
We are liking him.

... where Sean was gone
Sean
