I got A for my STPM Biology back in year 2000. I liked this subject very much. But it wasn't easy and you need to memorize a lot of facts. For example, the volume 2 has got a lot of kingdoms and life cycles of different organisms. That will kill you. The rest plays with concepts. DNA for example requires abstract understanding. I would say, it is five folds of what you learned for SPM Biology. When you go to Uni, these things are actually chickenfeed...lol...Make sure you choose Biology plus Chemistry in combination. They should be together. Those who choose Biology and Physics have limited choices for their Uni. In fact, physics is very difficult unless you really like Maths. You need to develop and prove formulas etc..I also got A for STPM Chemistry. As for this subject, I only mastered the Physical Chemistry section. Use flow charts to study organic chemistry. If you want to succeed in your STPM, you must study smart. All subjects are very very tough. Maths T is another bitter tea. I did a lot of exercise and only managed to get a C (C4 for paper 1 and paper 2). This grading system at my time was very cruel. C sounds worse but in fact my level in today's system could be a B+ or B. Well, our Maths T last time got 4 chapters on Physics. Now, they have been replaced with 4 chapters of statitics which I should say it is far easier than our time. Gd luck.. |
