美代司法部长拒执行移民禁令　遭特朗普辞退


美国有16个由民主党执政的州分向法院入稟，指总统特朗普限制穆斯林入境的违宪。

美国代理司法部长耶茨（Sally Yates）以行政命令不合法为由，於周一向司法部律师下达指示，不要为案件辩护。

据《纽约时报》报导，美国总统特朗普先在上推特反击耶茨，较后宣布辞退耶茨。

白宫文告指出，特朗普谴责耶茨「背叛」美国政府。特朗普也宣布委任波安特（Dana J. Boente）为新任代理司法部长。

耶茨：坚持正確立场

据报道，耶茨於在美国时间周一（30日）向司法部律师致函，表示她有义务確保司法部在法庭上追求正义，並坚持正確立场，她说：「直至目前为止，我並不认为替行政命令辩护与司法部的义务立场一致，亦不认为该道行政命令是正確的。」

耶茨在2015年获奥巴马委任为副司法部长，本年一月获特朗普邀请，在候任的司法部长塞申斯上任前，代理部长一职。分析认为，耶茨的指示主要只是象徵式，因为塞申斯对於移民问题態度强硬，他在正式上任后可能拥护特朗普的禁令，而他的任命正等候参议院確认。

Trump fires acting attorney general who defied him on travel ban

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump on Monday (Jan 30) fired the acting attorney general, a holdover from the Obama administration, after she ordered Justice Department attorneys not to defend his controversial executive order on immigration.

"The acting attorney general, Sally Yates, has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States," the White House said in a statement.


"President Trump relieved Ms Yates of her duties and subsequently named Dana Boente, US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, to serve as acting attorney general until Senator Jeff Sessions is finally confirmed by the Senate."

美国司法部代部长耶茨 被特朗普革职

美国司法部代部长耶茨下令属下官员不要为总统特朗普的入境禁令辩护后，被特朗普革职。

白宫同时发表文告强烈谴责耶茨，指她在处理边境事务和非法移民问题时软弱无能。

白宫也委任联邦检控官伯恩特代理司法部长，直到特朗普提名的塞申斯获得参议院核准为止。

另外，白宫也谴责民主党参议员故意刁难，导致参议院迟迟未能核准塞申斯的提名。
