Polytechnics file police reports over fake websites

SINGAPORE: Police reports have been filed by Singapore’s five polytechnics over fake websites of their schools, the Ministry of Education said on Sunday (Jan 31).

It advised members of the public not to refer to information or engage in any transactions on such fake websites. For all informational and transactional needs concerning polytechnic matters, only the respective official sites for the polytechnics – www.sp.edu.sg, www.np.edu.sg, www.tp.edu.sg, www.rp.edu.sg and www.nyp.edu.sg – should be used, it said.

“Fake websites surface from time to time and we would like to remind members of the public to remain vigilant, especially for transactional purposes,” the ministry said.

“We will work to bring down these websites and will continue to monitor for such websites,” it added.
