什么是cartesian equation...

show tat the cartesian equation of curse 2/r=1+cos@ is y^2=4-4x




还有一题是
a curse is defined parametrically by x=4+2cos@ and y=sin@-1
i)
show tat by eliminating the parameter @, the cartesian equation of the curve can be simplified to
((x-4)^2)/4+(y+1)^2=1
which represents an ellipse

翻了3 个版本的notes都没有看到这个东西

就是我们平常在解析几何里面用的一种表示法，用坐标(x,y)来表示。
例如x^2+y^2=4 就是in catresin form

2/r=1+cos@
2=r+rcos@
2=r+x
2-x=r
4-2x+x^2=x^2+y^2
y^2=4-2x

x=4+2cos@ ---1
y=sin@-1------2

from1 (x-4)/2=cos@----3
from2 y+1=sin@-----4
3^2+4^2  ((x-4)^2)/4+(y+1)^2=1

find the polar equation of the curve x^2+y^2+8y=16



是不是
r^2+8r sin@=16
r-16/r=8sin@?
