KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Reuters) - Malaysian energy services firm Ramunia (RAMU.KL) said on Thursday it accepted a takeover bid of 232 million ringgit ($65.8 million) from the engineering unit of plantations-to-property conglomerate Sime Darby (SIME.KL).

Analysts had feared Sime's discounted offer would be rejected by the government-run Armed Forces Fund and Ramunia's chairman Azizul Rahman, who each own about 30 percent, as they would end up with a stake in unlisted Sime Darby Engineering.

Sime offered a 34.5 percent discount to Ramunia's current market value of 354.2 million ringgit, which analysts said reflected the 176 acres of fabrication yard that Sime will use to take on more contracts.

Shares in Sime Darby, the largest listed firm on the Malaysian stock exchange, closed down 1.5 percent at 6.60 ringgit. Ramunia shares will start trading on Friday after being suspended for much of the week.
