讲真的shifter可以用回。我的Saint的shifter还没到时，Acera的shifter+FD都可以当2x来用而且还用了快一个月没问题。
要2x ,crank当然要2x。不然22x32那里够用？
2x和3x没什么分别，3x可以涵盖的范围比2x广。除非3x的最大和最小你用不着。

设计和功能像Paul 的。喜欢它的简洁。
也喜欢c guide的简单设计，防下部掉链，防chain slap。DIY应该没问题。
但会一直磨着链条。spinning 时应该会浪费不少力气。
比较适合down hill吧。

摩擦的阻力不會大，我隊友的29er specialized stumjumper FSR也有類似chainguide
我拿來試騎完全沒感覺到摩擦的阻力。

2X 大盘我是觉得gimmick 多过实际用途。
一开始是racer们根据场地需求，custom 3x成2x
sram 顺势推出2X, 造成一个新的潮流。
gear range 减少了但重量减不到100g (alloy chainring 很轻而已）
说什么3X, ratio overlap 很多，cross chainline 不好，不能用完后面的所有cog。。。
但2X小盘又可以cross chainline 配后小齿！？
2X, 3X小盘的位置根本就一样啊。

If you look at the Shimano specs you'll see the chainline on the triple M660 (ie where the middle chainring sits) is 50mm, while the chainline on the double M665 (ie half way between the big and small) is 46.8mm. This effectively means the two rings on the M665 are in exctly the same place as the inner two rings on the M660. So, chainline is exactly the same whether you use an M665 double or just take the big ring off the M660 triple, and I've measured the two cranksets on the bike to confirm this. 
由于range 减少了，2X crank 通常会有几个齿数组合让用户选（42-28，39-26, 38-24, 36-22。。。）
选错怎么办？买多一套chainring 来换。。。
3X range够大，不必担心找不到适合的ratio. sram 44-33-22；shimano 10 speed就 42-32-24不用选，不必头痛。
多余的ratio 你不要用，它也不会吵你； 要用到时tiak一下就有了。不会因为换了tyre或wheelsize而找不到适合的ratio.
26er 44T,42T大盘跑公路相当好用，特别是配上比较小条的公路胎时（1.5, 1.25)
比较high end的脚车都是两个盘是多一个卖点吧，特别是sram和BB30。
3X可以改成2X; 但2X不能改成3X。

The 1x and 2x to a lesser extent on a trail bike always seemed a bit gimmicky to me. Just a way to sell more stuff. On some levels mountain biking has always been a product pushing fashion show. Some products, like the thru axle, disc brake, suspension, have pushed the sport to new levels. Most are just trendy dead ends. To me, a 1x10 on a trail bike makes about as much sense as a fixed gear track bike for the city. A really, really bad idea, but all the rage. I never had a problem with the 3x10 stuff and it simply gives you more options on a trail bike with essentially no penalty. Why would you want fewer options? I do run a bash and 2x on my big bike because it makes sense in that application. It gives you greater clearance over steeeeep technical terrain on a realtively heavy bike with big tires that you will not outpedal with a 36 on a flatish grade. The terrain you encounter with that bike is specific and the drivetrain suits its needs. That said, it's nice to have a triple to put on for the whole enchilada. You can rip down koko with a big ring.  . 2x also makes sense on a race bike where you have a light bike and rider at a fixed weight for every ride that can be set up for a particular course(s). In that application, the efficiency gain from the weight loss and fewer/quicker shifts can make the difference between a win and loss. The limitations can be overcome by matching the ratios to the course. On a flat course or certain gravity assited super-d courses a 1x might even make sense. That said, do we really want to go back down the designing trail bikes to be like race bikes rabbit hole? I for one hope not. I have riden too many zero rise 130mm stems, 71 degree head angles, and flat bars to ever go back. Race bikes (xc/dh/super-d/etc) are all a compromise. Trail bikes, on the other hand, are made for dealing with as great of a variety of terrain, ride lenghts, and even cargo added for really long rides as possible. They are not (thankfully) race bikes. Why not have a set-up that gives you those options? Especially because on a 3x the 32 is the perfect middle gear for most terrain (especially with an 11-36 rear and 24 granny to do away with chain binding) and has not only the perfect chainline, but also the optimal diameter for most full suspension pivot locations. A 2x, on the other hand, is a compromise in chainline, in gear-ratio sweet spot being on the upper and lower aspects of the two front rings instead of on the middle ring across the range, total gear-ratio range, and chain position on the front ring in realtion to the pivot location of the rear suspension. Seemingly, the only thing against the 3x system is that it is not "cool" right now. The racer boys and downhillers/super-d riders are pushing the 2x and sometimes 1x and the magazines/advertisment journals based on the coasts where they don't have terrain like ours are on board as well. People want to be on the latest thing, so something like a 1x drive train on a trail bike will have some play before we all look back at it in ten years and laugh. I mean, by the time you put the guides on a 1x to keep the chain on the ring it weighs about as much as it did. People actually use front derailleurs as a chain minder. Crazy. Not even road race bikes are 1x for heavens sake. As I say though, if people will actually pay extra to ride a fixed gear track bike with tiny little handlebars and no brakes in a city, they will do anything. I'll keep a triple on my trail bike. It gives me vastly more options and pedalling performance with essentially no drawbacks. The Dyna Sys 3x10 is outstanding in all aspects of performance.
