Does anyone know how to solve this question:
25cm^3 of a hydrocarbon were exploded with excess oxygen, there was a contraction of 75cm^3. There was a further contraction of 75cm^3 when the product was treated with aqueous sodium hydroxide.Deduce the molecular formula of the hydrocarbon.
(Ans: C3H8)
