UUM ONLINE: 29 September - Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) has, once again, proved its sterling mettle on the international stage when its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, under the auspices of the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), received the much coveted accreditation from the Association of ...MBAs, AMBA, based in London, the United Kingdom.

The news of the latest achievement was conveyed this morning by the AMBA Secretariat, Katherine O' Flynn.

AMBA is an impartial international authority on postgraduate business education, which was founded in 1967. This accreditation body provides prestigious accreditation service in an effort to maintain the global standard for all MBA, Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), and Master of Business and Management (MBM) programmes.

AMBA is currently the only professional membership association which connects students and MBA graduates, recognised business schools, and MBA employers in more than 110 countries.

Up until September 2014, a total of 219 graduate business schools in 52 countries had received the AMBA accreditation. Among them are the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, in the United Kingdom.

The AMBA accreditation represents the world’s highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education, and it can only be obtained by the best programmes. It also represents a guarantee of quality to all stakeholders, including students, institutions of higher learning, graduates, and employers.

The Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Professor Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, expressed his utmost delight at this latest success, and he congratulated the staff of UUM OYAGSB, in particular, and all members of staff at UUM, in general.

"This is indeed a landmark achievement as concerns the academic quality that obtains at UUM, specifically for the MBA programme, which is now unequivocally on par with those of other world-renowned universities," he said.
