Section B：一题 12% (一定要掌握)
通常第 12 题是 Statistics
这一题一共分为 4 个小题：
12 (a) 2%
12 (b) 4%
12 (c) (i), (ii) 2%
12 (d) 4%

12 (a) 就是把 table 里空着的 2 个地方填上答案
SPM 2013:

该怎么填答案呢？很简单，拿出你的计算机：
(-2)^3 - 4(-2) - 10 = - 10 (1%)
(3)^3 - 4(3) - 10 = 5 (1%)
答案如下：


12 (b) 就是根据 table 里的组合 plot 成 9 个点

看题目哦：
By using a scale of 2cm to 1 unit on the x-axis and 2 cm to 10 unit on the y-axis
2cm to 1 unit on the x-axis 就是说打横的是 1，2，3，...
2 cm to 10 unit on the y-axis 就是说打直的是 10，20，30，...

那个 table 里的 x 是 -3，-2，-1，0，1，2，3，4


那个 table 里的 y 最小是 -25，最大是 38


然后就把那 9 个 coordinates 一个一个点上去
第一个是 (-3，-25) 也就是说你的 x = -3，y = -25

以此类推，

过后就 free hand （不可以用尺）把那 9 个点连起来。
(这样就有 4% 咯)
12 (c) 通常有 (i) 和 (ii) 两个小题：
From the graph in 12(b)，find
(i) the value of y when x = -0.5 (当 x = -0.5 时，y = 什么)
(ii) the value of x when y = 20 (当 y = 20 时，x = 什么)

(i) 在 graph 上面找 x = -0.5，然后就画去下面，碰到 graph 就向右转去 Y

(ii) 在 graph 上面找 y = 20，然后就画去右边，碰到 graph 就向下转去 X

所以，答案是：
(i) when x = -0.5，y = -8
(ii) when y = 20，x = 3.6

12(d) 通常要你在 graph 上面加多一条直线：

Y = x^3 - 4x - 10 ------------ (1) <-- 从 (a) 的资料得到
0 = x^3 - 12x + 5 ----------- (2) <-- 从 (d) 的资料得到

用 (1) 减 (2) 因为 (1) 的 x^3 跟 (2) 的 x^3 同样是 positive（用加如果其中一个是 negative）
Y = [-4x - (-12x)] - 10 - 5
Y = -4x + 12x - 15
Y = 8x - 15 <-- 这个就是你要画的直线
然后用 (a) 的方法找两个点

X 不一定要选 0 和 2（-3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 任何两个都可以）
然后就把那两个点连成一条直线

过后你就找看这两条 graph 在哪里交叉？
把交叉的地方花去 X-axis 然后写下答案：

然后就写 x = -0.4, x = 3.7

然后呢，你就拿满分了！好好消化吧！加油

今年出版的紫色书没了 2005 和 2006，所以我个人认为这次的考试很大可能会拿 2005 和 2006 的题目来修改而已！
