SINGAPORE -- Infinio Group Limited, a major technology and solutions provider in the new media space, announced that its wholly-owned Broadband Network Systems Ltd (BNS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Taiwan’s incumbent carrier, Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd (Chunghwa), to jointly develop the BNS Touch interactive TV shopping platform for the latter’s Multimedia on Demand services.
Details of the collaboration will be finalised in a formal agreement, wherein BNS will supply the technology and operate the shopping-on-demand service which will be integrated with Chunghwa’s existing IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) services and shopping catalogues. BNS has already recruited several leading home, TV and catalogue shopping companies in Taiwan to participate in this new service.
Mr Jeffrey Soong, the newly-appointed CEO of Infinio, said: “Chunghwa is not only Taiwan’s dominant carrier, but also one of Asia’s leading IPTV operators, as the country is one of the world’s most established and active TV shopping markets with an estimated market size of about US$7.4 billion. We are honoured and excited to be working with Chunghwa to bring a novel and effective multimedia experience to their customers. We plan to launch the full service before the end of this year.”
Due to its effective communication services and high penetration rate for broadband Internet access, online shopping transactions in Taiwan rose 32.3% in 2008, with most online shoppers buying clothes, accessories, beauty and health products. Mr Soong added: “From this base in Taiwan, we plan to grow the presence of BNS Touch in Asia, the world’s fastest growing e-commerce market which is set to double from 2007 to hit more than US$71 billion by 2012.”
Infinio’s BNS Touch platform is designed to enhance the service offering of IPTV operators and hotel/multi-dwelling unit owners as can be applied to TV shopping, in-room dining, video-on-demand, karaoke and education services. Easy to use, BNS Touch converges the browsing and selection convenience of information in printed catalogues with the information-rich multimedia experience of the online world.
BNS, which was acquired by Infinio earlier this year, is one of the region’s top IPTV enablers. The company provides IPTV-based content and technology solutions to major telecommunication companies such as PCCW and other leading groups like Nokia.

从里面，他说这公司再赚钱，当经济复苏时，而且他看好新国对IT教育的重视，还有网络的普篇性和发展，将让IT的教育更被重视
这公司也向其它网络生意发展，所以值得投资。

感覺上他的現金流出現了問題,  而且他前几年都是在亏錢,  我覺得應該要看 5 到 10 年的成績,  連續 5  到 10 年都在賺錢的公司比較可靠.
