You were to be tidied your room this morning. Why didn't you do it?

语法没错，但意思改了一点点
must be 和 is to be 含义不一样

must 有主观的含义，
如果我说 You must do it.
我的意思是我认为（主观）你必须那样做。

have to 则是来自“外界”的义务
如果说 You have to do it.

我觉得is to be done....不能搭配by mid-day,is to be done表示时常进行的某件事，the cleaning is to be finished everyday，逻辑上才觉得成立。

要人最迟在某个时段完成一件事，就应该带有主观命令含义，那我觉得放must就贴切多了……

上面没有正确答案，注意第二句的暗示：他没有打扫房间。

is to be done 表示时常进行的某件事，

貌似没有这种含义......






the cleaning is to be finished everyday，逻辑上才觉得成立。

要人最迟在某个时段完成一件事，就应该带有主观命令含义，那我觉得放must就贴切多了……
   
The cleaning is to be finished by mid-day.
根据他们的安排，打扫必须在正午前完成。
需要在正午前完成是为了配合整个安排程序，没有主观的成分。
这是原句要表达的，如果改去 must be finished, 意思有稍微的更改。

我：You are to be tidied your room this morning. Why didn't you do it?

我姐姐：You have to tidied up your room this morning, Why didn't you do it?

Noel：Your were to tidy up your room this morning, Why didn't you do it?

Anna：Your were to tidy your room this morning, Why didn't you do it?

You are to be tidied = 你将会被打扫

我姐姐：You have to tidied up your room this morning, Why didn't you do it?


to tidied : to + [过去词] : 不可能

正确语法应该是：I don't know what you are talking about.

前后两个句子不太搭。

be + [动词不定式/to infinitive]

例：I am to go..., You are to leave..., He was to do... 等等

用来

(1) 表示安排要在将来做的事情

The President is to visit China next month.
There is to be a strike on August 31st.

(2) 吩咐或命令别人做事，如父母吩咐子女做事，常用这种说法：

You're to finish your homework before you play computer games.
You're not to be back late.

这一结构也可用于过去，表示曾经计划或安排要做的事。
如果这种事没有发生，可以用[动词不定式完成式]，就是 was/were + to + have + [过去分词]

例：I was to have started work last week, but I changed my mind.

这一题是类似这个状况的，你今早本该打扫你的房间的，但你没有......

所以我的标准答案是：

原句：You were to be tidied your room this morning. Why didn't you do it?
正确：You were to have tidied your room this morning. Why didn't you do it?

楼上两位的答案没错，但原句也没错，视情况而定：
如果把动物看做有人格或感情时，可以称之为 he 或 she，
如宠物或豢养的动物，主人常会用 he 或 she 来称呼它，但别人可能就不会那么做。

例：
Go and find the cat and put him out.
His dog had to be destroyed because it started attacking sheep.
